//ARE YOU WILLING TO BE BAD AT SOMETHING??//

Taking my coach’s advice, I went out and bought an ab roller and a pull up bar. I have a full pull up station in my garage, but realized I was not actually going out there because it wasn’t convenient, so went to walmart and purchase both…I put it in my master bathroom and everytime I walk past the pullup bar I throw down a few pull ups…

On the station I have in the garage, I was letting my feet touch the ground between pull ups, and I realized I was actually pushing off each time. Because of this, I had a max of 10 pull ups…when really it is much lower…

Because I am tall, and my doorways are shorter than the pull up station, I was forced to hang with my legs up, so what I thought was my ability to do 10 pull ups, actually turned out to only be 1 at a time…

I am happy to say that I bought the pull up bar Monday evening…and I could do 1 pullup…I have done pullups everyday since, and today is Friday and I can do 2, almost three without letting my feet touch the ground…

I always had a story around pull ups…I was really into crossfit for a while, still love it but don’t do it right now…but when it came to pull ups, I always had a story that I was too heavy…SOOO…I would never do them…

well shit, how would I ever do a pull up if I didn’t attempt them…so 6 months ago I bought a pull-up station, and some bands to assist in doing pull ups…when I started I could not do 1 pull up unassisted! not even close!

That helped….I had to change my mindset and be ok with being really bad at something…

The only way to get better is to keep doing that thing that you stink at, until you get better..

Increase your capacity!! Push yourself to do things that you suck at…if you only focus on things that you are good at…then you limit your opportunities for growth.

Step outside your comfort zone…step into the fear…step away from the BS stories that you tell yourself…who gives a shit what other people say….be yourself…be alright with who you are…take the good with the bad…

That doesn’t mean accept that you suck…that means know where you are weak, and work to be strong..crush your fears, break thru limitations…kill doubt and quiet the voices!!
