“My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” John F. Kennedy
That is a great quote…
But let’s change it up a bit….
Today I am going into the world with the outlook of what can I do for my fellow man?
How can I positively impact someone else today?
Ask not what you can do for yourself, ask what you can do for others
The amazing thing is if you go into the world and provide value, and do things for others, the return is that it brings HUGE benefits to you. So by doing for others you are doing for yourself. But the returns are more than can be measured.
You don’t have to save someone from a burning building…just slow down and observe the world and people around you. We go thru the world so fast looking at our phones, talking to ourselves, we walk right past opportunities to positively impact others that costs us nothing but a moment of our time.
If you were to say hello to people as you walk by them…maybe you stop and talk to someone sitting on a bench? What if you paid for the coffee of the person in line behind you? What if you called a friend you haven’t talked to in a while and just said I was thinking about you today, and wanted you to know that I love you!
WOW, that is crazy I know…especially for a man to tell someone else that isn’t his family that he loves them…or to tell another man that he loves them? NUTS…but why?
I used to feel this way, I was afraid to have feelings and emotions because I thought they made me appear weak…but that was so wrong.
Being connected with your feelings and emotions and sharing those with people allows a level of connection that is incredible.
Today I will go into the world with compassion.
I will be open and allow myself to just be present and observe the things, events and people around me.
