You have been asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” dozens even hundreds of times when you were a kid.
Maybe you dreamed of being a fire fighter, or a soldier, or a poet, or a painter, or an astronaut, or a doctor…
Did you achieve the dream you had of your life?
Do you still ask yourself this question?
Why do we stop dreaming as adults?
At what age do we stop dreaming and start settling?
Successful people are learning and expanding and growing everyday…until their last breath!
That is what makes them successful….they don’t settle, they don’t accept mediocrity, they don’t stop dreaming…once they achieve one dream, they make a bigger dream…
Grant Cardone wrote a book, The 10x Rule…basically he says you set your goals too low so that you can achieve them…you are capable of 10x more than you are achieving today…and when you become the person that reaches 10x goals, then you have to set new goals 10x more than that version of you can achieve…
Set goals so big that you can’t achieve them until you grow into the person who can.
I challenge you to take time and think about what you want to be when you grow up…
Take action towards that dream…do you dream of becoming a painter? Sign up for a painting class…you don’t have to quit your job and cut off your ear, just take a small step in that direction…then another and another…
When you do this enough, you will look back and see how far you have come, and how close you are to your dreams…
Never give up on your dreams…never quit dreaming…never give up on yourself!!

When I was young, I wanted to be an artist- life got in the way, but I always kept drawing, learning new techniques – and at age 52 I am an artist- self taught, un-known, but always painting, writing, drawing- creating and learning. Now my dreams are not just about what I want to do, but what I would like to be able to help others do. I would like to put together funding and talent and open a Centre for the Arts in Barbados, to serve the Island first, but also the entire Caribbean, where we have so much talent, but little resources. I believe it can be done. If I didn’t work full time in a job I have to pay the bills… I think I would be further along on that path, but I believe that the right people together can do anything. I just haven’t linked the right people together for the dream to become reality. Yet.
